Toward the end of 2024 and the begining of 2025, the Oasis family grew to where we needed to launch a 3rd service to accommodate the rapid growth. This led to a need for more parking and to begin praying about a new worship center...but how?
Then early 2025, we heard that the old bowling alley may be for sale. Pastor Caleb had a conversation with the owners and confirmed that they wanted to sell. After much prayer and consultation with our leaders and church family, the decision was made to purchase the alley and land. May 2025 saw us owning a 14,000 sq. ft. building in addition to our current facility.
Starting in July 2025, we began demolition of the old bowling alley. Workdays were held twice a month for the rest of the year, and once a month in 2026. Hundreds of volunteer hours were poured into the removal of materials that filled some 22 - 30 yard roll off debris boxes. Click the button below to see some of the activity.
We have an architect, and plans have been drawn up for the facility, which will include a 600+ seat worship center, Youth Center, and some children's classrooms. The proposed format will allow us to return to two services and host community events and plays. It will also allow us to reach out and minister to the high school students (the high school is located across the street from this location). Currently, the students enjoy coming on campus and hanging out during the lunch hour, and on Thursdays, a free lunch is served to those who show up. We will also double our parking capacity.
We have also secured a contractor, and we hope to start renovation/remodel work in the fall of 2026. We hope to complete the facility and hold our first service on Easter of 2028!
The proposed cost of the remodel has been estimated to run 2.8 million dollars. We are hoping to raise all or nearly all the funds wtihout taking out a construction loan. While this is a steep mountain to climb, our God is more than able to provide for this as He sees fit.
